Just a reminder to all my fellow Canadians here on MO that the Federal election is coming soon, October 19th to be exact.
Though I don't personally have a preference for any of the parties involved and I think (like most of us) that they're mainly a bunch of lame ducks...I will vote regardless.
And I will vote for the party that has done something for our gun rights and not promised to legislate our rights out of existence.
Some might say gun ownership is such a small thing compared to the economy or the justice system...that might be true on some levels. However, I believe it speaks to the larger issues involving our freedoms and rights. That's where my main concern lies. Our long term economic future is not being written in this country anyway...it's being written down south of the line, in China and Europe. Whatever they decide, will decide our eventual financial fate.
So, I will focus on issues we can have influence in, like upholding our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Which may be put to the test with bill C51...however the same gov't has also shown a commitment to preserving our firearms rights and streamlining the bloated and aggravating Canadian Firearms Program.
Educate yourself on the big issues and that's not tough to do anymore. Lots of information is available. If we don't vote...we will get the gov't we deserve. When our rights are trampled by bleeding hearts and the PC leftists...our fate is sealed. Once rights are gone...they ain't coming back.
I'd encourage you to write a letter to your MP expressing your concern over bill C51 (anti-terrorism bill) and write to the Honorable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety also. I will be writing him expressing my concerns also.
Do your part to preserve our rights, freedoms and our firearms heritage.
