On the cut shell, the shell is typically designed to eject after the shot so aren't you forcing something down the barrel larger than what was intended?
 
I've wondered the same thing. I'm guessing the plastic has enough give to allow it to pass.
 
I accidently bought some steel shot loads, and I'm going to try this with them.
 
So is this going to work with steel shot loads?

Am I going to line my barrel with melted plastic?

I don't think it stays in there long enough to melt, right?
 
I like shooting wax slugs, but I am not gonna try those cut shells. I can see them significantly increasing the pressure inside the barrel due to the tight fit. To each his own. Take care. Tom Worthington

with the right amount of pressure and/or temperature, it could happen....
 
Maybe I'll just dump the steel shot in a bag & re-load with lead.
They do not allow steel bullets at the range here, and maybe steel shot is verbotten as well. I never thought to ask.

I've watched several of those, and been amused at the demolition tactics.

So far I have not actually seen them blow out a barrel yet, but there are lots more videos...:rolleyes:
 
Watched a few episodes of Hillbilly Preppers and suddenly realized, hey, that's Barry from the Cut Shells video.
