Not to many details yet but it's been confirmed that a shooter wounded 2 students before being wounded and the attack ended by an armed campus security officer. See liberals...armed security can make a difference.

THE LATEST:
Maryland high school student who opened fire at school dead after exchange with school officer, county's sheriff says
EARLIER:
March 20 (Reuters) - A student shot and critically wounded two fellow students at a Maryland high school on Tuesday morning before exchanging fire with a campus security officer, who ended the attack by wounding the shooter, the county sheriff said.
The school day had barely begun when the student, who has not been identified, shot a male student and a female student at Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County before the campus security officer intervened, county Sheriff Timothy Cameron told NBC's Washington affiliate.
All three students were in critical condition at hospitals.
The officer was not harmed, and the public school's roughly 1,600 students were later escorted off campus by police, classroom by classroom, to reunite with their parents at another high school.
It was not clear whether the student shooter was shot by the security officer or wounded in another fashion.
The relationship between the students and the shooter's motivation were unclear, Cameron said.
"You train to respond to this and you hope that you never ever have to," he said. "This is the realization of your worst nightmare."
The violence was the latest in a decades-long series of deadly gun attacks at American schools and colleges. It occurred amid a re-energized national debate over school shootings after 17 students and faculty were killed in a rampage on Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the deadliest mass shooting at a U.S. high school.
The Maryland school is in Great Mills, a community about 70 miles (110 km) south of Washington.
Local law enforcement officers were joined at the school by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were heading to the school, official said.
"You never think it'll be your school and then it is," Mollie Davis, who identified herself as a student at Great Mills High School, wrote on Twitter. "Great Mills is a wonderful school and somewhere I am proud to go. Why us?"
Following the shooting, she exchanged messages on Twitter with students from Stoneman Douglas High School, saying their activism had inspired her to spearhead a walkout against gun violence at her school. A few Parkland students expressed their sympathy and told her to be safe.
Emma Gonzalez, a senior at Stoneman Douglas High School who survived last month's shootings, wrote on Twitter, "We are here for you, students of Great Mills, together we can stop this from ever happening again."
The shooting came four days before the March For Our Lives - partly organized by student survivors of the Parkland rampage - takes place in Washington to urge lawmakers to pass tighter gun control laws.
Republican Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said he was monitoring events at the school. "Our prayers are with students, school personnel, and first responders," he said in a statement.

Good job officer.

Emma gonzalez is a tool. Good luck with that.

She's trying to stay relevant for sure. To bad this one is missing all of the talking points the anti gun zealots like to trot out when they stand on the bodies of dead children to push their agenda.

Our nearest local news rag just spent weeks with daily articles and editorials on the Florida shooting. This one is was barely mentioned so far.

"together we can stop this from ever happening again."

This whole statement shows her naïveté.

Sadly, no amount of existing or future laws will stop an evil person from attacking someone else.

Her idea of banning guns has clearly been shown to be largely ineffective.

Schools have been largely deemed "no gun zones" since before she was born. Her life experience doesn't recall a time before the first school shooting in the U.S. because she isn't as old as we are and that prevents her from knowing this.

The extreme left wing organizations are using her. And maybe she even wants to be. Just wait until they have moved on to the next "must act" subject matter and the need for her is diminished. I'm afraid she'll turn out like a lot of other childhood movie stars.

The latest "march"/protest in D.C. is Saturday, BTW. LINK UPDATED LINK The donors are a who's who of Hollywood and other elitist scumbags. You don't think these indoctrinated idiots are able to do this for free, do you? When they say "stop gun violence" I hear "we want to take away your guns!". I will consider attending a counter-protest in the area if convenient but then again, I have to work...

Make it a point to contact your elected officials NOW and let them know how you feel and that the loudmouth pinhead demonstrators do NOT represent your views NOR do they have the wisdom on the subject to make an educated statement about it. In other words "do not listen to them!".

And how are they "survivors"? Just because they didn't get shot? Many of them weren't even in the same building the shooting happened in! I guess that makes ME a survivor, as well... I feel for the parents who lost children but the whole tone of this protest takes away any credibility any of them have, IMO...

It's time we stand up and make our voices heard. Right now the NRA is their whipping boy. The left would like nothing better than take away the funds the NRA provides to political leaders, I use that term lightly, that receive donations from them.

This no more than a movement, using children, to take away guns from law abiding citizens. Next will be the 1st and 4th amendments. This is a very steep slippery slope. More like a cliff.

When you have several generations of people that are indoctrinated to believe the government is all caring and all encompassing this is what we get.

I've done my share to educate the young generation in my family.

I can't change the whole world, but I can help shape my own.

I fixed it for you. This is no "movement". It's just a new tactic for the same old anti-freedom crap.

I've been working like a madman on three different projects, so I haven't been keeping up with the news, and I hadn't heard about this shooting at all.

We haven't had any school shootings here but we have had several copycat threats from kids who are looking to get a day off school or something.

The Maryland shooting was a kid pissed at his girlfriend, or had been his girlfriend. She later died and another student was shot in the leg. A school resource officer shot the perp and put an end to it. It did not make much of splash on the news. Didn't fit the narrative.

It only makes the news when the gun is used for evil.

We rarely hear how often a gun stopped an evil act.

The only positive right now is that the gun grappers are going all in while they think they have some momentum. Hopefully they dont and will be deflated when they are told to shut up and go back to the kiddie table.

Eventually though these kids and their kids will be of voting age and if the anti gun brain washing continues ... well we know where that goes.

Fortunately they're not all stupid, and some of them will realize soon they're being led by the nose in somebody else's parade.

When they figure it out they're going to resent the fact that they've been played.

That may be wishful thinking cadd. Most of them are blissfully ignorant and very content to be there.

I think what is eventually going to happen (or SHOULD happen ;)) is that one or all of these kids are going to mouth off to the wrong person and get punched right in the face and knocked the fark out! Maybe even kicked a few times for good measure. That will be a sure fire way to shut them up or at least get them to think the next time their mouth works faster than their brains! Not that I condone violence but I also do not submit to a verbal bully, either. My "personal space" is my reach. You get in my face and verbally assault me you will only get one warning to back off. I've taught my kids the same principle and will ALWAYS take their side if the school principal calls me in because they were fighting. I urge them to debate any loser, including their teachers, that preaches gun control. That is who we are... I say to them "I don't want you to put down gays or be racist--I encourage you to be civil and polite. But you also need to stick up for yourself, your family and your principles and be ready to fight for any or all of those!"

Once they find out that their safe spaces are never safe by their own nature, and that these places are only made safe by folks stronger and more well-armed than them, that dose of reality will be a strong wake-up call.

Most of those kids we saw out there on the mall are not paying taxes yet. That truth is not yet their's, but those of them who manage to get a job will discover the truth when they get their first check.

That is the point where many will figure out that the government is not going to make them safe because the government is the enemy.

They will discover that the government is always willing to take your money & tell you you are now made safe by their hand, and then look the other way when you get shot.

I really don't think it will take half of them long to figure that out, but of course half the people never figure anything out. We will always deal with that.

The uproar has subsided a bit this week, thanks primarily to Stormy Daniels and the train that traveled from North Korea to China. I'm certain though that the left is just planning their next demonstration.
