For those that don't know or live in Ca., the yearly tag fee includes tax for the year, and if you have a pick-up it is more as well even if it is a small (Ranger size) one. They consider all trucks commercial vehicles. If I knew all the b*** S*** before I moved I would not have moved to Cali. Sorry just venting. Oh, don't tell my daughter what I said, she will not like it.
 
Yea, same thing in Iowa. I used to have a '93 S10 and it was a junker. $130'some a month for tags. My '97 Aurora, very nice, still mint condition ... a whole $36 a year without specialized plates. Speaking of, I need to renew my plates.
 
i gtfo cali in 2003. haven't looked back since. i lived there for 11 years.
 
well i was a dumb kid then...but grew up quick, or it would have kicked my ass. i actually miss my job. local 44 propmakers union. movies, tv shows, videos. i did a shitload of stuff. all fun too.
