What happens after gun confiscation?

Apparently, Lancashire England has just answered that question.

For anyone that thinks that the "powers that be" are not trying to completely disarm entire nations, maybe you may need to take 2 minutes away from your facepage and actually learn something besides what your friend is having for dinner.

Save a Life – Surrender Your Knife

LANCASHIRE Constabulary has joined forces with the ground-breaking national anti-knife crime campaign ‘Save a Life, Surrender Your Knife’, as the force’s knife amnesty comes to an end.

Since the amnesty began at the end of August, more than 800 knives have been handed in across the county – including swords, machetes and commando knives. The amnesty was extended for a further week owing to its success.

Lancashire officers have now given their backing to a national initiative designed to raise awareness of knife crime and encourage the surrender of dangerous weapons.

The British Ironwork Centre, which is coordinating the project, intends to use the collected knives to create a 20 feet high guardian angel sculpture in memory of those whose lives have so tragically been lost.

Despite the amnesty ending this week, police say people can continue to hand in any knife at any police station with a front counter as well being able to drop them into the designated bins.

Police are looking to keep the bins and extend the number of locations to include job centres, community centres and leisure centres.

The “Save a Life, Surrender your Knife” campaign is creating and providing bespoke knife collection bins to be located in the cities around the UK.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Dowson said: “We are keen to raise awareness of the devastating impact of knife crime and to reduce the number of families affected so we have decided to keep the knife bins indefinitely.

"While projects encouraging the surrender of knives are not a single solution to violence, they have an important role to play in inspiring communities to get behind education and preventative measures.

"Such campaigns show a desire to address local concerns and Lancashire Police is keen to throw our weight behind them in support.

“We’ve been delighted with the response so far, but our communities have told us that they want an end to knife crime and that they want to work with us to make that happen."

In total, 340 knives have been handed in across Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and Skelmersdale. Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde, as well as North Lancashire, have seen a total of 150 weapons handed in, while 310 knives have been handed in in East Lancashire.

Among the weapons given up are machetes, swords, axes, a homemade blade screwed together with razor blades and large knives.

Clive Knowles, Chairman of the British Ironwork Centre, said: “The statue, which will represent the culmination of our project, will symbolise the nation’s stand against knife crime. We are delighted to be able to work in partnership with Lancashire Police in the on-going fight against knife crime”.

The charity project is already gaining huge momentum, receiving the backing of growing number of families whose lives have been tragically affected by knife crime, and of Terry Waite during his recent visit to the Centre.

The Lancashire knife amnesty, which started on Monday 25 August, officially ended on Tuesday 7th October 2014.

Knife bins are located outside of the following stations and continue to be accessible 24 hours a day:
  • Blackpool
  • Lancaster
  • Fleetwood
  • Morecambe
  • Burnley
  • Darwen
  • Nelson
  • Preston
  • Chorley
  • Skelmersdale
Following the end of the amnesty all knives will continue be surrendered anonymously – no names will be taken, and there will be no CCTV cameras recording.

It's no wonder the muslims are moving in trying to take them over. They've pretty much outlawed self defense.

Just what those terrorists like.

Soft, Easy Targets.

And they have no one to blame but themselves.

All they want is common sense knife laws and no sane person could argue against that. These must be the relatives of Neville Chamberlain.

Next up on the agenda....baseball bats...

I will never end until the those in control feel that we have nothing to fight them with.

Ever see what a common steel 4 tine table fork can do? They'll probably ban any metal implements altogether and require all dinnerware to be plastic sporks. ;)

The Pen isn't quite as mighty as the Sword, but I garuntee this pen will do some significant damage. Steel, brass and walnut. Weighs about 4 ounces, 5.5" total length and can penetrate almost 3" while maintaining a good grip.

And yet again, stupid people wanting to try to ban the inanimate object, rather than assigning guilt to the actual perpetrator.

In these peoples' eyes, they will never be safe.

If these people were capable of using critical thinking skills, they would probably take a long walk out into the ocean without scuba gear after realizing what fools they really are.

I believe there was a bill on the Parliament floor to grind down the points on knives to decrease the stabbings. LOL yet we get criticized for our jail population. Go figure.

It's happening here too although it seems to mostly be liberal minded cities. I had heard NY City and some areas around the NY state are pounding people if in any way shape or form you can open a knife by flicking your wrist.

The daily knife I carry has a 3 1/2" blade with spring assist open.

Philadelphia is run by a bunch of complete morons. You can open or conceal carry a gun with a shall issue permit (state law) but you can't have a pocket knife of any kind (city law). I think that says what Philly would do with guns for law abiding citizens if given the opportunity. It's a toilet and I recommend never going there. There's a reason they had a justice of the peace and jail cell located in the football stadium.

Worst areas for knife carry:
  • 1. New York, NY (majority of pocketknives will result in arrest, aggressive prosecution of knife owners, over 60,000 to date)
  • 2. Philadelphia, PA (all knives are illegal to carry except when actually in use on the job)
  • 3. Ocean City, MD (many common pocketknives are illegal, Catch 22 traps many citizens)
  • 4. San Antonio, TX (all locking-blade pocketknives knives are illegal to carry except on the job)
  • 5. Rocky River, OH (2.5-inch blade limit)
  • 6. Boston, MA (2.5-inch blade carry limit, including in any vehicle)
  • 7. Cleveland, OH (2.5-inch blade carry limit, registration of any sale or gift of a longer bladed knife)
  • 8. Chicago, IL (2.5-inch blade concealed carry limit, 2-inch blade limit for 18 and under, but minor cannot legally obtain any knife)
  • 9. Corpus Christi, TX (illegal to carry any fixed blade knife or a folder with a blade longer than 3-inches except when actually in use on the job)
  • 10. Aspen, CO (Any concealed knife is illegal to carry in public)

The best states for knife carrying:
  • Tied for First Place: Alaska / Arizona / Kansas / New Hampshire / Tennessee / Utah
  • Second Place: Georgia
  • Tied for Third Place: Arkansas / South Carolina / South Dakota
Law-abiding knife owners face no restrictions on the knives they can own or carry in Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, New Hampshire, Tennessee and Utah. In all these states only the criminal misuse of a knife is illegal. In Georgia, the only restriction is that knives carried are limited to a 5-inch blade.

^^ And people wonder why this poll shows us in 21st place behind other countries for personal freedom.

Americans' assessments of their personal freedom have significantly declined under President Obama, according to a new study from the Legatum Institute in London, and the United States now ranks below 20 other countries on this measure.

The research shows that citizens of countries including France, Uruguay, and Costa Rica now feel that they enjoy more personal freedom than Americans.

As the Washington Examiner reported this morning, representatives of the Legatum Institute are in the U.S. this week to promote the sixth edition of their Prosperity Index. The index aims to measure aspects of prosperity that typical gross domestic product measurements don’t include, such as entrepreneurship and opportunity, education, and social capital.

The freedom scores are based on polling data from 2013 indicating citizens’ satisfaction with their nation's handling of civil liberties, freedom of choice, tolerance of ethnic minorities, and tolerance of immigrants. Polling data were provided by Gallup World Poll Service. The index is notable for the way it measures how free people feel, unlike other freedom indices that measure freedom by comparing government policies.

“This is not a good report for Obama,” Legatum Institute spokeswoman Cristina Odone told the Washington Examiner.

The knife I carry is illegal in many states. I think there were 14 states listed on the companies website last I checked when I bought it last year. The anti's will never be happy, they will always want more. That's why we have to stop them cold.

Pretty soon they will ban letter openers.... swat will kick in your door while opening your bills....ha ha
