WallyWorld just got a new 500 in stock, a U9xxxxx. So it was produced around Oct 2014 and is 6 months old. This confirms that these guns sit around the distributor for many months. Keep this in mind next time someone says Mossberg sold me a scratched-rusty gun.

Serial number runs look as unorganized as their stock/inventory/model numbers.
