Trigger adjustment

I had a problem getting mine much above 2.5 pounds. I was aiming for 3 pounds (Hunting). The screw just got really tight and I worried about breaking something...

How do you go about adjusting the trigger on a MVP 308 Patrol rifle.I dont have a handbook.

Just turn that big screw in/out. The red stuff is there to keep it from adjusting itself, so it may feel a bit on the tight side.

Before you start turning, take a can of WD-40 to the trigger assembly, then thoroughly flush the WD out with gunscrubber. That will take any grit and chunks from the machine work and shop dust it accumulated on the way to your box. You can re-lube with a Teflon lube if you think it needs some protection from moisture. Blow the excess Teflon lube out with one of the canned air products. Less is usually more with lubricants. (Wear eye protection, BTW).

Both of my Mossberg triggers responded well to the above recipe.
