My 1957 (?) 146B

GT_80

.270 WIN
Bought this for $79 two years ago and the stock was missing the inlays so unmade some from plastic (diamonds) and wood on the butt- no idea why someone would pry them out... shoots amazing, origibal rear sights were missing, front hoof was missing, trigger guard was hand made (looks like cast aluminum and hand finished).

It shoots amazing, looks crappy, but I at least refinished the stock with linseed oil so it isn't too bad. Has a 3-9 power scope on it. I can get about 1.5" groups at 100 yards approx- I'm not a marksman, but I've spun caps off juice bottles at 100 yds.

Here is is-

146B was made 1949 to 1954. There was someone who was selling those alum. TG for awhile, due to so many plastic ones broken. These rifles to day, if original, will sell to a collector for about 200, depending on condition, maybe more. Yours is a later model (1951-54) the first ones had a T bolt handle and collectors will pay more for them. The sling swivels are not original, rear one has the original base tho. I think yours is very nice looking, altho I would take the tacky plastic inserts out and use a light contrasting color wood inlay instead. Who ever checkered it did a nice job! They are noted for their accuracy. You got it for a very good price, even for two years ago!
If you know all this, sorry to repeat.
