Truglo FO Turkey sight install

Instead of buying a Mossberg 24” Turkey barrel I’m going to install a Truglo FO turkey sight(s) on my 28” barrel. Truglo lists the part as:

TRU•BEAD™ TURKEY UNIVERSAL DUAL•COLOR
http://www.truglo.com/firearms-turkey/tru-bead-turkey-universal-dual-color.asp

Does anyone have a 24” Turkey barrel that could give me the distance between the front and rear sight.

I’m going to install only the rear sight as the one in the kit sits much higher than the Mossberg front FO sight. Thanks for any help you can provide.

The Mossberg front sight is pretty well zeroed when you're parked right on top of the bare vent rib with your drop adjusted properly. You will likely find that the rear sight in that TruGlo kit is way too tall for the factory front to zero if it is the one shown here:

It will be even further off it is is a simple bead screwed into the vent rib.

The included FRONT sight in the TruGlo kit is what we used to run with this Mossberg factory adjustable rear at its lowest setting on a 24" barrel:

Of course we now run our own sight setup, but we hate to see you order something that may not work for you. In fact, we probably have a few of the TruGlo rears laying around here somewhere if we look hard enough.

As far as a measurement of the distance front to rear, that is going to vary based on where you choose the place the sliding rear. It runs about 20" for sight radius on the 24" barrel before you run into the thicker portion of the barrel.

William,

The Truglo rear sight is secured to the ventilated rib by 4 screws that attach to a piece of metal below the rib. By using the Mossberg 930 FO front sight w/ the Truglo rear sight @ 30 yds most of the pellets were impacting ~1 ft about the aiming point. There isn’t a lot of adjustment w/ the rear sight so I put the Truglo front sight (included in the kit) on the barrel and then the pattern was on the aiming point.

I have a lot more loads to try but right now this add on sight kit is working good.

I use a Tru-Glo snap on rear and the factory fiber optic front sight on my 930 (28" barrel). I just slide the sight as far back as I can to get it as low as I can on the rib.

I've yet to miss a turkey with it yet...and yes I have taken several.
