Yesterday I took my new Ruger Blackhawk .44 magnum to the rifle range.
It looks so nice that everyone thought I had bought a brand new gun. It also shoots very nice.
I also took the Uberti .38 caliber six shooter, the .45-70 Marlin lever, the Henry 22 Magnum lever and the Henry 357 Magnum lever, and the distinctly non-Cowboy Marlin model 60 .22 long rifle.
I shot the revolvers at 10 yards and I shot the rifles at 50 yards and the .45-70 guide gun at 100 yards.
Unfortunately I did not keep the 100-yard Target because I managed to put five shots in a 5 inch circle with just buckhorn sights. Not exactly MOA shooting but for this heavy carbine I was quite pleased.
This is the Uberti revolver shooting 38 Special wad-cutters that I cast from old wheel weights.
It's 10 yards and I was shooting for the nose.
This is the Super Blackhawk 44 Magnum, shooting for the X, and shot number one was way off the paper. Shot two and three were very low and to the left while 4 5 and 6 were much better on the Torso.
I shot the Henry 22 Magnum lever gun with Skinner peep sight at 50 yards. 15 shots at moderate rate.
This was the Marlin model 60 .22 long rifle at 50 yards 15 shots at rapid fire, using the Leupold AR Mark 1, 4x scope.
This was the Henry .357 Magnum. 5 shots at 50 yards using the Tasco 9x scope.
