Enhanced Competition Follower does not function in my Mossberg 930 SPX

I bought the Enhanced Competition Follower and once installed. It will not allow my Mossberg 930 SPX purchased new in Oct 2019 to accept 7 rounds. I can put in 6 rounds and if I try 7 the magazine tube is very tight and double feeds the first two rounds causing a jam. The only way I can it to work is when I remove the white plastic magazine tube spring retainer. I called Mossberg and they said the gun would not function/feed properly without this part. Is your Or3Gun follower not designed for the 930 SPX? Attached photo is the part I am referring to that will not allow the Or3gun competition follower to work but Mossberg Tech Support states i required to function properly.

Do you have a picture of the end of your magazine tube extension? That is a change to the SPX that may indicate they have gone away from the Choate extension. That shouldn't have to be there on a Choate as long as the end of your magazine tube is turned in and allowed to rotate freely.

The new part from Mossberg is not necessary as long as you turn the sharp end of the spring in so that it isn't trying to dig into the plastic end of the Choate tube. No idea why they added that piece unless it is a round limiter to address some state's laws.
