The outer ring glows in low light and the tritium center for no light. The glowing picture was after hitting it with a flashlight for a second. I got it mounted and cut the hole in the heat shield. I’m telling you that shield is some tough steel. The barrel was much easier to drill.

I used Brownells Aluma-Hyde II Dark Gray Parkerizing paint to touch up where I gnawed the hole out for the front sight. I didn’t spray it, I just sprayed a little in the lid and used a small model brush. The color looks like a pretty close match. Now mount my Brown Coat side saddle & install the TractionGrips on the Raptor’s butt. Oh, and I got rid of the questionable rear swivel & replaced with a heavy duty GrovTec recessed plunger.

I also touched up the heat shield a little more with the Aluma-HYDE II dark gray. I didn’t like the white tags on the side saddles, so I took a green Hi-lighter to ‘em.
I think I’m done (unless I come up with something else). Oh, there is a great video on YouTube on the install of the TractionGrips.

I used a lizard skin bat wrap on my Raptor grip. I thought somebody might be interested in seeing it. It gives it quite a bit of cushion in a lot of grip.

I just got a shockwave and saw what you did to your grip with the lizard skin.
Are you still happy with it and do you remember the mm size you used?

FWIW, this is mine. I bought the medium width. I also used the whole strip. Been in place for over a year, and a few hundred rounds. Stayed in place.

Nice looking set up. You'll have lots of fun shooting it. Just a couple of suggestions: skip the heavy loads and ditch the forearm strap. Unless you wear a glove on your pumping hand, you'll find that the front portion of the strap digs into your hand.

I have been thinking of removing he strap...it's a little awkward to hold when aiming down the barrel for me.

Trying a different magazine tube extension that allows stuffing 9 mini-shotshells I'm the tube. Reliability testing to follow later.
