Hi from CT. Not the 2nd A friendlies of states, but have lived here off and on, mostly on since the late '50s. Home of the Colt and many others in the past and a few in the present. I like Colts and have been a fan of 1911s for most of my life. In the early '60s, when I was 15ish, the NRA offered the surplus 1911 and M1, from the armory to your door for $15 each. I bought the 1911. When it arrived, I headed straight to the range and fired a 45 for the first time and have been enthralled with the 1911 since, along with many other acquired gun that I managed to obtain and sell over the years. Wish I still had them all.
Guns are a hobby and for me it started when I was living in Iowa and my father brought home a Winchester 22, semi auto rifle. We went plinking in the local quarry and learned about respect and gun safety.
I discovered this site while searching for information on the Mossberg 500 and other fine machines. Happy that I did.

Welcome sir. We're glad that you joined the forum. While it is technically a mossberg forum, you'll find that we talk about anything where it pertains to guns. Mossberg or not.

We're a bunch of gun guys too.

FWIW, I always like the 45acp. First time I ever fired a 45acp, I was a young teenager and it was out of an older Thompson (semi-auto). Like you, I have always liked and enjoyed shooting 45/

Thank you. I am definitely into Mossberg. So glad that I stumbled into this forum. Many times I find that ideas on one gun or that which pertains to guns in general are useful across the spectrum. It's all interesting and applicable.
