Good morning

Yikes! A REAL man of adventure!

How long did that weld take?

I once drove a plastic car with gasoline on the floorboards a bad ignition switch and loose wires dangling against the column, but it didn't catch fire, and it was only around the block.

I had to steam clean a new skiploader once. It had been used to put out a raisin and manure fire. Brand new rental machine. Shit still smoldering down in the articulation pivot!
That was nasty as hell. Not dangerous cleaning, but imagine starting a raisin and manure fire by spontaneous combustion?
Lol. Not a man of adventure..just a guy getting paid to fix others F ups. I came to actually prefer to weld on broken and blowing or burning natural gas because you could see it and avoid it. Way less stain generating than welding a fitting onto a pipe of dubious vintage and origin..ie welding a simple service connection onto a main only to have the “war tubing” main split open for 2’ while you are straddling it, 3 feet down in the bell hole..lol good times.. as far as raisins and manure, I think we had breakfast at that casino in Carson City..lol

I am sorry to hear that General Chuck Yeager died yesterday at age 97.

Good Morning Mossberg Owners.
I got the local welding shop ads yesterday From Fresno Oxy, and now I'm drooling over a cheaper welder: the Miller 235 mullti-function.
It's much less than the one I was looking at, only $2500, but would maybe allow me the cash to have separate TIG and MIG setups. I hate changeovers.

I need to do some research on a good welding forum. The way things are going elsewhere, good used equipment might be available on the market too. It's not so easy to find around here, as farmers buy up the stuff fast. Fancy used TIG welders are rare.

It's 0220 hrs on the east coast, so early good morning fellas.

We've now seen video threats to electors and legislators etc supporting Trump, so I'm not very hopeful in an EC victory, outright, on Monday.
Yet it could turn, in another historic moment. We've had a number of those in 4 years. It's time for a historic Christmas. (Keep praying....)

BUT, Several good things happened today, which offset my disappointment in the SCOTUS decline of the Texas case.

My jury duty has been canceled. I hate it, because I have to sit around half a day, only to be excused, so good news!

I shut off the water & installed two new hose bibs in the back garden, and nothing leaked. :)

I also changed the stopcock on my RO system from 1/4 to 3/8", and it did not leak!

I made rice pudding. Previous attempts were bland and underdone, but this one was perfect!

I got rid of my last small aquarium, which I have been ready to dump for two years. I was only keeping it going for Zed the Betta.

He is old now, and dying from gill disease in a small hospital tank. I raised this fish from an egg & I was lucky to have him. I thought the whole brood had died over night from extreme conditions, but Zed alone survived (hence the name Zed.) Anyhow, tiny tanks are a PITA to me, so good news for me. Zed may survive, but it looks grim.

Finally, it is raining! This will finish any smoldering fires off, and start off the Sierra snowpack. Really welcome after months of drought.

Good morning for real Guys.

I was amazed to wake at 7AM to steady rain. This was the one we've been praying for all summer.

I don't think any wildfires survived this rainfall, and a lot of the forest does survive.

I am still treating little Zed, and he soldiers on.

As do I.

My best wishes and blessings to you all.

You are in central California? I get a near daily weather report on FB from my cousins in Sacramento.lol we’ve had plenty of rain here and most of the ski areas are open already. Good luck with the fish..

They dynamited out a 100 year old fig orchard to build my neighborhood, back in 1985. I live in the orchard region, near the Blossom Trail, east of Fresno.

And this is the desert. 200 years of irrigation has made the San Joaquin Valley very farmable, but rainfall is meager.

I prefer the desert to the heavy rains of the PNW, or the cold of the snowbelt. But nothing grows for long here without irrigation. The farther south you go, the drier it gets too.

70-some years back, the Civil Engineers of America came up with this big plan to fix up the PNW with dams and waterways to sell water and electricity to California, Nevada and Arizona. It would have made Alaska, Washington, and Oregon very rich, and the agriculture would have been unbelievable.

But it was a 50 year engineering plan. Only the Chinese get to do those, and even then they often foul it up.

Good morning Mossberg Owners.

Yesterday was a dreadful day for me but today started out much better. We got a little more rain, no leaks, and I feel physically better than I have in a while.

I think I will go out today and find myself a Christmas tree that will with love and care survive for two weeks. And considering what it will cost me, it will get a lot of care.

But considering the joy it will bring to my wife, The cost means nothing, and most of the care will be provided by her, Once it is cut, mounted, erected, leveled, & the Electricals are attached.

I have a feeling that tomorrow morning will bring a great shock to the world. I have a feeling that in a year of things that never have happened before we are going to see at least a start of something amazing.

Good Monday morning to yous. Yesterday we received 6 inches of wet, heavy snow. We only average about 10 inches a year so this was a pretty big deal. The temp this morning where I am was about 25 with a high in the low 40s and abundant sunshine. A lot of this stuff will be gone by sundown.

Anyways, looks like a nice enough week in store for us. Have a nice day and stay safe.

Good Morning Mossberg Owners.

I hear Google et all went dark this AM. I woke up too late to see it myself.
But I have heard no explanation yet.

No tree yet. The rains kept on and off all day so we decided to wait until today. Amazingly it is still raining a little...
