I gotta stop looking at these threads. It's like some form of firearm porn. Now I gotta have a 1911 and I had just gotten used to the idea of not having one. :( Stood many a watch with one of those hanging from my hip. Take care. Tom Worthington.

Just have ta make a couple tough decisions man.

I wanna down the road get the EB though... SF Carry maybe?

Switched out the grips on the RIA today to a new set of VZ Grips ETC-FRAG G10 panels in Dirty Olive...

I love the dual texture of the ETC panels and the FRAG pattern provides an incredibly solid grip...

What model is this Rock Island? I like the looks of it. Not a long slide, yet a nice size butt/grip area...I thought I wanted "compact" untill I actually held them. The butt's bottom was in the middle of my palm. (get yer mind outa the gutter ;) )
thanx....

Haha, nice!

It's their mid-sized model, MS 1911a1. It has a full-sized grip with a shortened dust cover and a 4" barrel instead of a 5" like on the standard govt. length 1911s. The weight distribution as very balanced and doesn't feel 'nose heavy'. I really like this length. It's a great middle ground between a pistol aptly sized for CC yet still a great range gun. Here are some new pics...

Thanx sniper....I'm really leaning towards the 1911 style. Plus if I'm going to making 1911 grips it would only make sence to have one.
