Hello. I am from Iowa and I picked up two 500s from a confiscated gun auction a few years ago.

I have purchased a 18.5" barrel for one and dedicated it to home defense.

The other I has a 30" ribbed barrel and is dedicated to upland hunting.

I am joining here to learn about my 500s and what I can do to improve them.

Thank you to everyone who set up and now maintain this excellent forum.

That's quite a pair you've got there. We've got a great group of folks here on Mossberg Owners and the atmosphere is very laid back. The only thing we like better than discussing each other's guns is lookin at 'em, so be sure to post pics of your 500s and any other firearms you own in the various sub-forums. You'll find that we're into a lot more than just Mossberg around here. Let us know if you have any questions.
