Well it's awesome that Texas and Iowa have threatened to arrest U.N. election observers if they show at their polling locations next week. It's pathetic that 48 states haven't made the threat.

“In Texas, for example, the attorney general is the chief law enforcement authority, so if the state law as written and as the AG is going to enforce it says the election observers can’t go in, we will report that,” Rymer said.
On Tuesday, Iowa followed Texas’s move and warned of arrests if observers violate state election law by coming within 300 feet of polling places. (In Texas, it’s 100 feet.)
According to its report after the 2008 general election, OSCE election observers were turned away from polling stations in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Texas. Their poll watchers also had difficulties in counties in Colorado, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Virgina, the report said

I think that's awesome and would like to see similar law here.

I agree about the UN bein a threat, very much so to Americas sovereignty.

Why would they even need to observe? What is their reasoning on being there? To gather info to use against us? Schmucks....

We pump billions into the UN, which ironically is against almost everything that America stands for.

I don't trust them, nor do I think their intentions are innocent. Groups like this don't "observe" a country's election without reason. Given the agenda of the UN I do not like this one bit and question their intent.

I feel the same here. I feel the administration very closely supports the UN agenda and parts of that agenda include global socialism/redistribution and global disarmament of private citizens.

Something id very much like to see from a new administration would be to stop givinv so much American $$$ to the un an to countries who hold seats in the un that are not friendly to American interests of security or sovereignty.

You guys make some good arguments.

And I agree about cutting off funding. I would very much like to see a For Lease sign on the front door of the UN building although I don't expect that I'll ever see that.

I pay my taxes to be used and benefit me, my family and community. Not to benefit some place on the other side of the world that I will never step foot in.

Although I don't mind to help some of my family and neighbors out occasionally, my ultimate responsibility ends at the edges of my yard.

I'm proud to be an Iowan today! The fact that the UN and certain factions within our country (most notably the national popular vote crew) don't understand that each state is sovereign is even more reason to keep them away from our elections. Perhaps they should have gone down to Venezuela a few months ago to observe those "legitimate" elections. Or perhaps Palestine when they voted in Hamas. The UN needs to fix broken election systems before trying to break ours.

You and me both!

I'm proud to be an Iowan today!
I wish I could say the same because PA told them no too. I guess PA did give them grief 4 years ago. I'll definitely be proud if we go against BHO next tuesday.

Not that I want them here but if the UN wants to look at voting issues the should ask BHO and his justice department why they stopped the Bush admin. investigation of voter intimidation by the new black panther party in philly 4 years ago.

Umm....No For Lease sign...

Good one Ripjack13!

Well, the foreigners in this group were shocked we can vote without showing I.D. Many states have tried to implement I.D. laws but are fought all along the way by the Democrats/Liberals:

The most often noted difference between American elections among the visitors was that in most U.S. states, voters need no identification. Voters can also vote by mail, sometimes online, and there's often no way to know if one person has voted several times under different names, unlike in some Arab countries, where voters ink their fingers when casting their ballots.

That is one of the things I would like to see change.

Not necessarily in the number of ways we can vote, but to have to provide identification saying it is legal for them to do so.

And, I would also like to start doing a popular vote for President instead of electoral vote.

I have no problem whatsoever showing my id to prove I yam what I yam....a citizen...of the USA. I think the law should be to show id. If you're legal what's the problem?

The electoral vote sux. Hard. Every state should have the same number. They should all be equal....stop playing favorites.

My thoughts exactly.

If nothing else, if you don't want to do an exact popular vote, how about the candidate who gets the most votes for no less than 26 or more of the states.

Whoever gets 26 states or more popular vote, that's still the majority vote even if you don't do the electoral garbage.

The sad thing with the electoral college has been over the years, each state has been districted and redistricted so many times to sway the votes one way or another, it's out of hand and control.

One state in particular is worth 55 electoral votes.

Hardly fair to the neighboring states who wouldn't add up to 55 votes if you added them all together.

Just sayin'.

But I'm not holding my breath "hoping" anything will "change".

Iv'e ben saying that for years, It sucks that basicly 3 or 4 states tell the rest of the country how things will be.
