OMG...my heads going to explode. :?
I didn't do to well in trig class...But I'm certainly going to bring this up to my step son...he does this in his sleep. he'll get a kick outa the scenario and calculations.

... or was it a fart smeller? Ah, I can't remember...
 
Somehow I missed trig, but 3 semesters of calculus beat the hell out of me. :D
 
Well, I think you got your marksmanship info from others.

Now your tactical info:

1) You do not send one individual to do battle with an AK. You send a team.
2) The shotgun is the wrong arm for this situation. Get a rifle to do a rifle`s job.
3) Maybe one member of your team may be armed with a shotgun with buckshot, but he would be a secondary player. Buckshot might come in handy if multiple perps jumped out of the car shooting.
4) If your imagined police agency is some backwoods outfit that has not bought carbines yet, try to get by the lawyers and let your officers bring in personal arms.
