Mossberg Tactical .22 Autoloader Troubleshooting

after a fail to feed issue and the replacement of the trigger housing assembly on mine, i had this issue. it went back to mossberg again. they said the action was hanging up and fixed it. i've only been able to fire about 125 rounds through it since, but i have only had 3 fail to ejects in those 125 rounds, compared to 6 or per a 25 rd magazine.

something was not right with it when i got it back the first time...so i sent it back to mossberg. i would suggest calling them to see about repair.
 
Thanks, I will call them when they re-open. Hopefully, they can just send the replacement part instead of having to mail the rifle to them... (fingers crossed)
 
Anyone else have a heck of a time getting the trigger assembly back on? I watched all of the youtube videos i could find and tried just about everything with no luck. All the videos make it look like if you pull back the bolt, the trigger assembly should just easily work into place. Well, ive tried almost every way i can think of and nothing works! I really don't want to have to go to the shop i got it from to have them reassemble it, but I'm to the point that I don't even want to mess with it anymore!!
 
What i did was put the spring guide into the main housing. Attach the spring to the action and ease the spring to the guide. At that point the assembly will not fit into the housing. It will be sitting an angle in the opening. I use a needle nose plier to angle the guide and spring to mimick the assembly. Then i just push the slide into the guide. The hammer has to be cocked though. Good luck!
 
brand new gun with stripped screws...

Just picked up my 715t and all of the screws on the quad rail are chewed up and I'm nervous to even unscrew them in fear of not being able to get a bite on them. Also, the screws on the stock were over tightened and will not even come out..they just spin in place.


Anyone else have this experience??

Awaiting response from my local ffl where I bought it due to the holiday.

Kroil is a good screw penetrant - also makes a good barrel cleaner - use some valve grinding compound on the screw head for a better grip - use a block of wood to knock as you loosen - if all fails you can always easy-out the damaged hardware - my 715t 25rd handle top arrives Thursday thanks to the socialist leaders. Found some Remington wildcats 22fr online and ordered some extra mags from moossberg - can not find the 10 rd mags?

I did have a problem with this on mine, it's one of the buffer-tube screws too. I went to take it down to clean the factory grease and it just spun around. I need to have it checked but haven't found the time yet. Very odd.
 
One screw left after initial cleaning

Hello

I just got my AR tactical .22 and I cleaned the whole gun before shooting but I got one screw left.

Here it is if I can down load the pic.

Any ideas? It has a spring steel washer(wavey) and a metal washer that goes with it.

After I find out where it goes then I'm off to the range

Mag Release

Ok, so we know the biggest issue is probably the mag release. So I am looking to fix this issue, or Atleast show you guys how to fix it the best way you can.

So far I have fixed the issue temporarily with drilling a larger hole, a bit deeper to accommodate a larger screw with more aggressive threads. I used the same cap that it had originally, the right side release lever. I am thinking since I don't use it, I may use a washer instead so I can tighten it up a bit more... But it is holding well for now.

You just need to be very careful with the drill when it comes to drilling out the hole. It is easy to go in a bit crooked... Then its all toast. So I suggest a clamp and clamp it vertically so the hole you are going to drill into is facing up. Use a level to ensure it is plum. Then I recommend a drill with a level dome on the back to ensure you drill straight the entire time. It is just too easy to mangle.

As soon as I can I plan to find a new material, probably aluminum, to remake one completely. I think I will start remaking it exactly as it is, just more durable... I wonder if that can be done with the entire rifle stock.

If anyone has a better idea, please let me know.

Flat top or carry handle? If it is the carry handle version, it could be the rest iron sight windage screw. If it is the flat top, I have one, and I don't have any screws like that at all.
 
Bought 715t with flat rail last Wed. at local big box. Got it home and started to clean it and noticed the takedown screws were missing. Called Mossberg/Maverick the next day, but have not received new screws yet. Anyone know the size of these screws?
 
715t Tactical 22 problem...any suggestions??

Hello I recently purchased a mossberg 715 t 22. The first time out at the range the action would lock into the open position every few rounds. It doesn't get stopped by the magazine it actually locks all the way open. Although this is very annoying I am still able to shoot and I love it otherwise. Does anyone know a fix to this issue so I don't have to send it in I have been having trouble getting in contact with mossberg. I saw on here a while back something regarding a zip tie but can't locate it again. Any suggestions welcomed. Other than this issue I have not had any rounds jam using CCI Tactical. Thanks in advance.
 
Wow, that is awful, I was coming here for some help, but nothing compared to that... Dang that is awful!!!

Does anyone know what kind of bit would be best to use on the flash compensator to bore the bore out a bit bigger? I noticed the heads are contacting the top of the compensator and causing my rifle to shoot downward. So I want to bore it out wider... I have already tried a carbide bit, but it wore out faster than the compensator did.
 
Out to the range again today. Gun shoots awesome, magazine is a complete piece of crap!

After the last time out, only ever getting 12 rounds in the clip, I pulled it apart, cleaned it up and put it back together. I was finally able to get 24 in it. So, it sat for 2 weeks loaded up to help the spring.

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: First 3 times today, it held 24... woot, I thought. :evil: I got 9 rounds out of the 3rd reload, then FEF. Pulled the mag and the next closest round is about an inch below the lips. The upper spring BROKE! I am so aggravated. My second 25 rounder is aparently held up in back orders like everyone else is dealing with. So, I now have rifle that I can not shoot.

I'm hoping I can get a hold of someone at Mossberg on Tuesday to fix this issue. I just want my gun to work at this point!
