State Capital Protest information

Vent away Oli!...reminds me of a guy I met last month during a day of training. He saw me checking out M.O. on the lunch break and I found out he was a competition skeet shooter. I also learned that he could have cared less about anything as long as his precious hobby wasn't treatened. Made me want to grab a wad of shirt and give him a back hand slap.

I am a competition trap shooter and shoot plenty of skeet as well.
All I can say is that 99% of the guys that shoot any type of clay targets, just don't care!

So backward its chilling .....my current period correct defensive arms have more constitutional sand than any trap gun in history past , present or future. They are on borrowed time if this goes south

I had no idea that it was that bad. I know they want to separate out hunters to support "reasonable gun laws". I can't imagine trap shooter would be that naive that they don't know they will be on the list at some point.

LTB45...I guess that makes you a 1%er!

Totally understand your frustration oli.

Over the past few weeks I've heard way too many comments along the lines of "I support the 2nd ammendment but I don't see why anyone needs military assault rifles".

I'm starting to think......I completely support the First Ammendment but it should be legal to throat-punch people who spout off ignorance.

There should be no "but" to support of the 2A.....it's either all or nothing because the only thing which allows us to draw a line in the sand for the ruling-class politicians IS the 2A. Without it they have no incentive to slow themselves down.

wow, I really like that. Wish you lived in my state, I'll settle for my country. Thanks man

I was just going to make up something simple and bring it back but, they can get bent

Disgusting... and these people call themselves, Americans... Out for themselves and won't go out of their way to help a good cause, that, believe it or not, WILL affect them no matter what. I hear some guys at work say similar things...

"I don't f$%^ing care if they take away AR's, I only hunt with a bolt action."
or
"I only hunt Duck with a semi-auto shotgun, I can use a pump if they take it."

THAT IS NOT THE POINT! The point is that we have our rights and we CANNOT give them up and let them go so freely... Fight Damn it... FIGHT!

They do not know their Constitution as well as most immigrants.....HUNTING IS NOT PROTECTED....AR's are. If they take away AR's hunting rifles and trap guns are next. ......how do you eat an elephant? One bit at a time.....

I agree with you, Oli. Hunting is definitely not protected, but even if it was... Say they wanted to stop deer hunting because it causes too many "cruel deaths" from hunters not making the right choice to shoot at the right time... The guys I work with would go... "Well I can hunt ground hogs in the summer and turkey in the spring, they can have the deer."

They are all sheep... the only ones who have my back are the Ex-military guys who actually know the Constitution and have risked their lives to defend it. They know what it is worth. Not these big mouth, hot shot, 3-gun runners or skeet shooters.

And therein lies the problem….casual gun owners that that have turned gun ownership into a game….it’s like my FIL for instance, we get along great but I don’t want to even talk to him about this because I know where it will lead…..me thinking he is a puddy. I don’t even want to go there with closer family. But he has some cool guns and only tries to one up people with weapons. Don’t really care why he has the right to own it, or what its true role in our history was/is/or will be. Just that it’s nicer than Larry’s at work….
He doesn’t come from a place where guns are a way of life, life blood if you will. That is why it feels like someone wants to cut off one of my arms when I think about gun control. Taking my gun is like taking your smart phone Rick……..lol

I resent that!!! I got my first smart phone last November. Up until then I had the old school flip phone and I honestly would be okay going back to the flip phone... would save me $50/month... :? Ask my Fiance... Trying to take my shotgun would be detrimental to ones health.. 1oz at a time ;)

I've heard that, too. "My skeet gun only holds 2 shells. They aren't going to take those away."

I can now say with certainty there are only three guys at work who really care, though all but a few own firearms.

One is a Navy guy, still in the reserves in fact. One is a younger guy, he cares but not enough to participate in anything. The third is about my age, a couple years younger. He cares and pays attention to every detail. He won't participate either but views everything happening as illegal and would be the first to defy any new legislation to the point of violence should anyone come lookin.

There is the socialist lib at work with the pistol caliber AK. I have nt asked his fellings on this. I want to know but I don't actually desire to hear his weird interrpretation of all this then hear him spew the same nonsense talkin points and id rather not have it turn into a confrontation at work, it would be like touching the third rail, and still I want to know. He insists that obama doest want our firearms and that he fully supports the 2ndAmendment.

I dunno, I'm pretty much done talkin to any of them.

I have two that are pro-gun although they don't own or shoot with any regularity. I can't get them to a rally but they will vote pro-gun.

The rest not so much, in fact one is the reason we aren't supposed to carry at work. She found out my boss carried, he mentioned it one day, and threw a fit. He still carried after that, anyone with any observational skills could id the imprint, but apparently everyone else in the office was oblivious (he has since retired).

I had a few friends that attended the last rally in the 19th with me but I'm flying solo on the 8th, no one wants to use a vacation day. :x I rarely use my vacation for anything but hunting but I never thought twice about taking one for this.

I got people that I didn’t even know were into anything gun wise. They aren’t committed to the 8th yet but they are really spreading the word to people who can go and are asking me for links and what not always wanting an update. Henson Ong is the most popular link…THANKS JOHN !.....got to be careful with the .US email......naw EFF 'EM !!!

as I send them links they are finding things I haven’t seen....following different links. So there is some hope around me.

I found 2 peeps that want to come along on the 8th. So I told my boss today I need it off. He was cool about it. So I'll be there. Again....this time I hope tomeet up with LTB....I need to meet a member here!!

This time Im wearing my blaze orange MO hat....

I have been wearing mine for about a week now.
Not sure if I can make the 8th though.
If I can I will send you a PM and we can meet up there

I've been playing email tag with the folks at Buckeye Firearms Association. Mainly to ask why they were not supporting, or even publicizing, the recent 2A demonstrations. I found this posted in their forum by one of their staff and it speaks volumes:

"^^^^ But then here you imply it is geared towards Washington???? Which is this geared towards???
This event is not well defined as to what the purpose of it is. If it is geared towards the Obama administration, then define it as such.

You do realize the Ohio legislature is NOT in Columbus on Friday's, right? These kind of actions are not needed with the Ohio legislature as we are in a very good position this session with a pro gun legislature, pro gun Attorney General and a pro gun Governor. As a matter of fact, our entire Ohio statewide offices are filled with pro gun politicians. This type of event if geared towards our Ohio legislature could do grave damage to the relationship with the legislature that Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohioans for Concealed Carry and the NRA have built over the years. We are finally in a good position and can not and will not support this if it is geared towards our Ohio elected officials. Guns Across America was clearly defined as to the motives of the event."

So much for supporting grassroots efforts in Ohio. I guess because they think all is well in Ohio and gun owners aren't supposed to demonstrate. Obviously they were not at the Jan 19th rally. There were no signs directed toward Ohio officials, only Washington bureaucrats.

They have lost any and all of my support...

Edit: ...until such a time that they have demonstrated that they have earned it.
