Here's a comparison of the Springfield XD-S 45 and a Glock 30. I apologize for the poor quality pictures. The XD-S is my every day carry. I tried to do that with the 30 but was never comfortable with the bulk.

Congrats on the purchase. You must be in Miami or Palm Beach? The 5 day wait is a local restriction. The rest of FL has no waiting period for long guns, only handguns. You need to get your CWP, then there are no waiting periods even for handguns.

It should work just fine. They also make a special version for the 590A1 with a larger diameter for the thicker barrel. That's what I use. It's a high quality machined part.
