Just for grins.....I hit that cap block from about 16 ft with a mini slug.
Listed at .88 oz and 1250 fps. I don`t think I would take `em bear hunting but around the house they should be a decent little problem solver....

Just for grins.....I set one gallon of water behind a little piece of corrugated metal and hit it with a Federal #4 mini buck from about 16 ft. It punched a 2 1/2" hole and made the water bottle jump up about 22" and out of the frame.

    It`s Science! :)

The Federal mini buck is what my Shockwave is loaded with now. They may not be quite as powerful as 2 3/4 but there's more of them in the gun. :sniper:

I'm still using the Aquila buckshot mini shells. They are loaded with 7 #4 buck pellets and 4 #1 pellets. I might try some of the Federal mini shells tho. They look like they keep a pretty tight pattern, maybe tighter than the Aquila.

Federal Shorty Slug vs Pumpkin-1 gallon water-Cap Block

At about 16 feet it pretty much punched a hole straight through the pumpkin, water and bounce off the cap block...

Slinging dinks! :) Mini slugs vs about 8.34 lbs of ice from 16ft....

The Aguila passed straight through and fell off to the side and the Federal stopped at about 4 inches.
Either one of these one be a viable option for HD in close quarters. :) It`s Science!

Federal #4 shorty vs 2 layers of denim and 8 lbs of ice @ 16ft

One load of Federal`s #4 buckshot had a spread of 2.75" and cut a ragged hole in that ice and stopped about 3 inches in. I was able to recover all but one pellet. It`s less than 2 inches from the surface of the skin to the outer surface of the heart so Federal`s Shorty #4 is more than enough to stop the threat in close quarters.

So, bought a hundred rounds of the Federal Shorty buckshot. Haven't had a chance to shoot any of it yet. The Federal rounds are actually slightly longer than the Aquila mini shells, maybe 1/8th inch. I think they may have slightly more velocity tho.
