I bought my 11yo daughter a used 20 gauge 510 Mini but it had too much kick for the weight. I sent the barrel out to Mossberg for porting hoping that would tame the recoil but all it did was add a very loud crack sound to the muzzle blast. I don't recommend barrel porting. I sold the gun and ordered a new 410 gauge 510 Mini and she liked shooting that one. It was so much fun to shoot I had to order me the Mossberg 500 Super Bantam in 410.
