590a1 Trigger Assembly vs 500 Trigger Assembly question

DTL

.410
I know that the 590a1 has a metal trigger guard assembly compared to the plastic trigger assembly of the 500. Are there any other parts in the 500 trigger assembly that are plastic? Is the trigger plastic too? I'm contemplating another purchase but of a 500 or 590 this time to avoid the weight of the heavy barrel on the a1. A bit concerned about durability of the parts in the trigger assembly of the 500/590. Thanks

The plastic trigger is only the housing; all other parts are steel.

The A1 trigger uses a detent to hold the trigger pin instead of a flimsy leaf spring (which is usually good enuf).

The A1 trigger was not beefed up; the plastic trigger was. So there may not be much difference in strength.

You can get a standard 590 w/out the heavy barrel. Or put an aluminum trigger in a 500. Or pretty much anything else you want since most parts will swap.
