    I have set off a primer when I was reloading .45 Colt with a Lee Loader. It's much more exciting when you do it accidentally. :) After that,I bought a hand primer tool.

    I'll bet that was exciting.

    I've never accidentally set off a primer, but I have set them off with a hammer and a punch, and I have set them off with a torch.

    Even large rifle primers aren't that loud. I can make more noise popping the acetylene torch
