It's beautiful and came razor sharp. Can't beat the quality for the price in my opinion. I haven't had the chance to give it a work out yet.
Pretty happy with mine. Chopped through an 8 inch log pretty easily, and cleaned some low limbs off a tree. It will serve it's purpose well
Wasnt sure were to put it. But this old fella deserves a mention its a workhorse came from my dad and i still use it pretty regular to this day. The only thing i know about it is it does serious work for as long as i remember and it could use a new handle if i run across one.

That got me to thinking about entrenching tools. Specifically military surplus. My dad has had one all my life, it's an Ames, round point, with a folding pick. They seem to be a bit of a rarity. Mine is the straight edged point. And doesn't have the folding pick. Also a U.S. made Ames of course. I find both to be very useful, and robust. And prefer to keep them handy.

You're a metalworker, nothing more satisfying than creating one of your own. No doubt you still have access to modern processes, or can learn the traditional ones, to fashion a fine usable piece
