AZ: HB2693 allows storage of loaded firearms in vehicles at school

Scoop

.30-06
On February 20th, the Arizona state House Committee on Public Safety voted 4-3 to pass House Bill 2693 to improve the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families by reducing arbitrary boundaries that leave them defenseless. HB 2693 will now be considered by the House Committee on Rules for constitutionality before it goes to the House floor for a vote. Please contact your state Representative and urge them to SUPPORT HB 2693. Click the “Take Action” button to contact your state Representative.

House Bill 2693, sponsored by Representative Warren Petersen (R-12), would allow law-abiding citizens to store their loaded firearms in their locked personal vehicles while parked on school grounds. This would ensure that parents would be able to pick-up and drop-off students without first having to stop and unload their firearms before driving onto school grounds or deviating from their route to park off campus. So called “gun-free zones” are arbitrary boundaries that only disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless while doing nothing to deter criminals.

I know a "guy" that has gone on school campuses more times than can be counted ready for 3-gun if you know what I mean. Not that there were EVER any nefarious intentions, just that is how he ALWAYS travels. Now this "guy's" kid's school has a guard that asks your business upon entry because of the MSD shooting and law... But nothing has changed with him nor will it.
