Do you still have to do a barrel breakin? Sighted in 2 days ago and I liked my grouping. What do experts recommend? 20171010_163356.jpg

I'm far from an expert so you'll probably want to discredit everything I have to say following this sentence.

I have done extensive barrel break-ins using the 10 shot/clean method

I have shot the piss out of them straight out of the box.

I have yet to see the difference between any of them.

If my guns print as well as yours is on that target, I'm satisfied.

Im with john on this one. Ive tried both ways meticulous break in procedure and also buy it clean it shoot it. I dont think rigorous break in procedure ever made any real difference.

I run them hard out of the box and I have taken the time to bream them in. Personally J never saw a difference, but I am not a terget shooter per say.

My friends that are and shoot long range swear by breaking them in.

Regardless the barrel will wear over time so things may change.

Just a hunter so not a long range shooter. 300 yds would be a question mark for me. 200 yds would be alot more comfortable. This group was 100 yds
