Bear in mind that this is the BBC.... considered by some to be the mouthpiece of the gov'ment, and therefore anti-gun.
They often promote the image that the US is still the land of cowboys and people getting shot on every street corner...

They got half of it right. But they assume everyone that owns a gun has the same mentality...

This isn't meant as an insult Daryll because I am glad that you shared the link.

But I don't make a habit of reading BBC news to get gun information, any sooner than I watch a Hollywood film to learn about guns. They both get it wrong 101.2% of the time according to most polls.

But I did notice something I would like to comment on.

Anyone who wants to protect their right to own a gun, has no business voting for a democrat official because the democrat party (largely as a whole) are the very same party that is known to try to ban guns. It's really not rocket science. It's known fact. And they don't even try to hide it.

Yeah, that whole story was messed up.

I can think of a lot of slants to that story. But it would probably be better if I don't go there.

AFAICT The BBC news service is a tool of the entrenched aristocracy.
But they're good for something.
The BBC Radio Orchestra is top notch.
Terrific mystery shows on BBC, or at least the ones we get to see here on PBS.
Which is what PBS is good for. I don't rely on their "news" either.
