Just a reminder to all my fellow Canadians here on MO that the Federal election is coming soon, October 19th to be exact.

Though I don't personally have a preference for any of the parties involved and I think (like most of us) that they're mainly a bunch of lame ducks...I will vote regardless.

And I will vote for the party that has done something for our gun rights and not promised to legislate our rights out of existence.

Some might say gun ownership is such a small thing compared to the economy or the justice system...that might be true on some levels. However, I believe it speaks to the larger issues involving our freedoms and rights. That's where my main concern lies. Our long term economic future is not being written in this country anyway...it's being written down south of the line, in China and Europe. Whatever they decide, will decide our eventual financial fate.

So, I will focus on issues we can have influence in, like upholding our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Which may be put to the test with bill C51...however the same gov't has also shown a commitment to preserving our firearms rights and streamlining the bloated and aggravating Canadian Firearms Program.

Educate yourself on the big issues and that's not tough to do anymore. Lots of information is available. If we don't vote...we will get the gov't we deserve. When our rights are trampled by bleeding hearts and the PC leftists...our fate is sealed. Once rights are gone...they ain't coming back.

I'd encourage you to write a letter to your MP expressing your concern over bill C51 (anti-terrorism bill) and write to the Honorable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety also. I will be writing him expressing my concerns also.

Do your part to preserve our rights, freedoms and our firearms heritage.

My mom was French-Canadian: Where can I get a ballot? ;) I'll even let YOU fill it out! :D

It might seem narrow-minded, but I base my vote FIRST on how the NRA rates the candidate, then I take the rest of issues at heart. Of course, I do NOT waste my vote but the last couple of elections, it was the "lesser of two evils" for Pres... :( I am fortunate that all my local people and US Rep. are A+ rated. Unfortunately, Rubio (A rated) has jumped from a certain re-election for US Senate to MAYBE a veep slot... And our "senior" (as in OLD FARK!) senator Nelson (D? rated at best) is a Dumpocrap and votes that way. BFD, he was an astronaut or something--now he is just an assholenaut... Who the hell is voting for these idiots? o_O

Anyway, I digress... I want to see my presidential candidate at the range, shooting a variety of firearms, period. Bushie signed SYG into law when he was guvna so that is a plus, but he says he does not own any guns--not good!

Saw THIS recently... GREAT way to cook bacon! :D

Is there a bad way to cook bacon?!?o_O

In all fairness, that wasn't a machinegun.

But he was shooting one in this one. Belt fed too.

And this video is a couple years old taken at Knob Creek, but is still relevant. Just to go on record, Texas isn't the only place where this is common. Remember, Texas had some help in the Alamo from some very well known mountain folk too ;)

Yee Haw Y'all.

Weekend bump for Canadian members....

Uh yeah...some independent feller. He's running in an area not far from where I am.

Edit: I'm not even sure how I feel about that ad, given the political situation here. Other than being more than a little moronic, I'm not sure if its supposed to be legit or just mockery.

IMHO, I think some serious independent candidates across the country could really shake things up. This guy just comes off like an @$$ and I wouldn't throw my vote away on a circus sideshow.

In fact, that ad leads me to conclude that some of my worst fears are true. The bulk of people out there don't realize that we are all sitting on the precipice of disaster(on so many levels)...and it ain't one bit funny.

He certainly seems like a dumbass. Sorry, just calling it how I see it.

It would seem that he is trying to appeal to the 6-9 year old category of voters.

LOL....No need to say sorry about that dumb@$$ery!!

Election Day is tomorrow...make sure you get out and vote.

I'm not wholeheartedly behind anyone or any party. They all have varying issues I don't agree with.

However, I will cast my vote based on at least one factor...that is firearms laws. And the hope that one party will at least not take us backwards.

I'm hoping that by keeping up the pressure and keeping the incumbent government we can have some influence with future firearms legislation. And, the same folks who will vote for this government should also be the ones to pressure their representatives to seriously overhaul Bill C-51 (Terrorism Bill).

Best case scenario as I see it, we keep a Conservative government, maintain our gun rights and at least have an ear for future changes. We lobby the crap out of em to get C-51 re-written or even scrapped. The current government has done a decent job with finances...so let that continue.

Just my 2 cents.....

Well the wife and I did our civic duty as did our daughter and my folks.

Voter turn out was over 70% at the advance polling stations. Indicative of a close race and high emotions.

Quite honestly, I can't imagine anyone seriously voting for the Libs...their party leader and candidate for Prime Minister is not more than a couple years older than I am. I don't like him, his policies or "his boyish charm".....BARF!!!!

For those who don't know, Justin Trudeau is the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau who was controversial, brilliant and either loved or hated. A great statesman but with a bit too much socialist leanings for my liking. Definitely riding on Daddy's coat-tails and I can't stand his smarmy smile nor his know it all attitude.

People may disagree...but IMHO, I don't think the leadership of a nation belongs with anyone under 50 years of age. You don't know enough yet, haven't lived enough.

Will be watching to see how this rolls out tonight.

Yeah...what a blow out. Holy smokes.

We'll see what happens now. It would be an understatement to say I'm disappointed.

Part of the Libs platform was to roll back recent changes to the Firearms Act and NOT to re-instate the Long Gun Registry.......however they said that wanted to track all purchases of firearms...sooooooo I'd call that a registry.

Let the pain begin....

Sorry buddy. Seems like we're not out of this slump yet.

But nothing is written in stone yet.

If you follow the American's example, you'll buy what you want and stack it deep in advance so if a registry does come, they can want in one hand a poop in the other.

There are a lot of boating accidents.

And flower gardens popping up everywhere.

I'm actually planning a hunting trip by boat...not sure which gun I'll hunt with...so I'll prolly bring em all along. I heard the water can get pretty rough.......
