Tater
.410
I've noticed most shotgun slugs seem to be about the same weight as a typical load for their respective gauge. 1- 1 1/4 ounce for 12 gauge, 3/4-1 ounce for 20 gauge for example.
But for the .410 bore, which typically shoots a payload of 11/16 ounces, the slug is usually 125 grains or about 1/4 ounce. If it followed the same relative sizes as other gauges, the slug would be closer to 1/2 ounce.
I'm guessing it has to do with chamber pressure, but I don't know.
It seems interesting to me so I thought I'd post this to find some answers.
