So I made a copy of an ESEE knife completely out of wood , with a few changes in the design to make for easy sanding.
I used African Blackwood for the blade, snakewood for the grips, and desert ironwood for the pins....
Looks kinda like damascus steel?
A guy on woodbarter.com challenged us to make one. The forum will be voting on the 12 or so best looking ones. The winner gets their knife in a calender pictorial.
It's really just a glorified letter opener, but hot diggity I am pleased with it!!!

Dude, awesome job on that! Freaking beautiful!

It does look like layered damascus, with a dark acid wash or something. Is there a place we can vote (for you)?

I love ESEE knives - I have an Izula, 4, and a 6s.

Ya gotta be a member of that forum to vote. If you're a woodworker, check it out.
