The Sacramento Bee is doing the Democrat Double-speak again, and proves that East Coast papers do not have a monopoly on fear-mongering and sculpted truths.

So what are they saying and what is the real story?
First they say California population has been increasing slightly. 136,000 in 11 years.
Then they scream that poor folk are leaving the state in massive numbers! They go on to say that it is because California is so expensive.
Obvious conclusion is that poor people must be given more money to keep them from fleeing the state, or else us rich folks won't have gardeners and housemaids and grape pickers anymore; particularly since only rich people are coming here! Just look at that chart!
OMG! Panic time in the valley!
But what is the real story here? If you read the close-up photo it clearly says people "from other states".
Here's the half-truth or half-lie if you will:
Mexico has States! The chart does not include those folks.
Our population has increased, even though millions of people are leaving, not because millions of rich people are coming here, but because poor people are coming from Mexican states in droves to California.
As they make enough money to flee our extremely High Cost of Living, they move out to all the other states on the map.
(US States, not Mexican states...)
But wait a dadgummed minute!
The state population is increasing! And according to their chart it's not because millions of rich people are coming here.
It is because the illegal (and legal) Mexican immigration is increasing faster than people can make enough money to flee too-expensive California.
And that is the real headline:
Mexicans are entering California faster than they can leave it!
But the liberal lying owners of the Sacramento Bee want you to believe that we're not giving poor people enough money to be the kind of folk we should be.
The red pen marks on the chart are mine & what I'm trying to illustrate is that people with modest incomes are fleeing California. (They also don't mention that they used $20,000 as the poverty level and it used to be $30,000.)
Anyhow what's really happening is that illegal people with no money and job are coming to the state. and they get jobs and money, and they make enough money to move to Texas and the other Western States, where the living is cheaper. Some small percent do move back to Mexico permanently. Mostly not.
But notice how they try to skew the story here to serve their political ends.
They attempt to make it look like rich people are coming to California and driving the poor people out, just by quoting a low $20k poverty level.
In this state a family of 3 making $40k is comparatively poor. And the average Mexican family is much larger.
But their chart fools the casual observer by using the words "500% and over", which sounds like a huge number, but is only $100,000. (try asking the average person to tell you the difference between 500x and 500%.)
Families in California who make $100,000 are definitely not rich people here, compared to the American Standard.
Of course compared to the Mexican standard we are enormously wealthy.
For one thing we don't breed ourselves into the Poorhouse. The other thing is that our country is not run by a bunch of Neo-Nazi fascist drug criminals* who solve their poverty Problem by exporting it at our expense.
(* at least not all of it.)
