Good morning

Good morning MOers. 73 and cloudy with thunderstorms to the southwest of us headed northeast. Hopefully they will not be severe.

The Keystone Dam is now releasing 282,000 cfs, thats 2,154,240 gallons per second. That would cover 6 and a half acres of land with a foot of water every second. levees are leaking in some places, and Arkansas is now feeling the affect as well as Oklahoma.

At Muscogee Oklahoma, yes the same one as the song, the Grand River and the Verdigris River also empty into the Arkansas. All of these rivers drain watersheds in southwestern Missouri and southern Kansas. Anyways, it's a mess and not likely to go away soon.

And still raining.....

Good morning friends and neighbors!

We got 2" yesterday before it finally cleared and now I would like to welcome back the giant glowing orb!

View attachment 20994

Alien spacecraft carrying 3000 beings with perfect skin from the galaxy Nochs Zema. However they are all way over weight and because their planet is so small, they needed to find a new place to jog. Maybe the mud will slow em down, ya think?

Our rain is just a memory now. . .

Lotta sun here now. 87F yesterday and 90+ today.
We should get the plywood done and start shingling.
There's some minor insulation and electrical.
I'm not ready yet . . .

On the fish club we're talking about how fast fish mutate, hybridize and evolve.

Species are created and go extinct faster than we can find them. The study of cichlids is like carrying water in a leaky bucket. It's gone before you can catch it. This is the bane of biological studies everywhere. As a computer guy and engineer I didn't understand this until I took up fishkeeping after retirement.

The bane of engineers is time. They must always answer the question, "How long will it take to do this thing nobody's exactly built before?" And we never really know. Whatever time is available, it's never what you'd want to do a perfect job.

The bane of programmers is the that modern systems have a factor of unpredictability, based on the fact that there are so many programs written, chances are nearly always unity that something will prove incompatible in the code between any two large pieces of software, even when written to work together.

Chaos in action. It's our condition.

Even when things go well.

I hope things are going well for you all, out in the land of tornadoes and high water.

Good afternoon, morning all. Hope all is well. GA is hot were in full on summer mode, nice breeze this afternoon, unlike OK we need a lil rain none on horizon fir,at least a week. I can water gardens as needed, but hilltop corn plot is having a rough spell.
Stay frosty all

Hey Mossberg Owners.

Well it hit 90F+ on the day we decided to rip off the shingles.

I did get the house closed off on the inside, using Durock concrete board. I wasn't keen to put gyp board behind an aquarium. anyhow it's sealed and plastered, and I plastered all the wall divots one coat.

I brought home 10 bundles of fancy shingles, and a roll of tar paper, 2lb of nails. Lots of insulation. Electrical, glue, caulk, flashing pressure treated lumber.
All my spare $$$ is vanishing. :idk:

I'm going to pull up some more plywood and add insulation to the attic while access exists. I have a guy coming to haul off the scrap tomorrow, and shingling commences tomorrow, but we have to fix the fascia first. There's still some rotten plywood and 2xs.

It should hit 94F, which is normal for May.

I've been too busy to keep up with the news much but there is this:

"We know how to get SH!T done!"

Here is one of my reasons I want the wall: socialism.JPG

Good morning all. My goodness, blue skies and forecast to be that way for at least 3 days. We have had a tremendous amount of rain this month. The weather man was showing last night some areas within 30-40 miles have had two feet of rain this month. I think we have had about 12 inches ourself.

Elbert, hope you are keeping everything dry down there. I see they are easing the releases from Keystone down a bit . That's a good thing.

Hombre, you got some heavy weather last night as well in your area. Hope you are doing well.

I wonder where Fellman has been lately.

Well, you all have a great day. I am going to check gutters today while I have a chance and tend to some erosion in the yard.

Cadd, hopefully you are close to going fishing, shooting, boarding, or riding. Anything but working on the hacienda.

Ya'll have a great day.

Yes Sir, it`s all good and drying out....I was able to get about half the yard done yesterday and after I walk the pond this morning I`ll get the other half this afternoon!

I hope y`all have a great weekend!

Good morning. 72 degrees under clear but hazy skies at Grand Lake. The lake level has dropped less than a foot since Monday. No rain for the next day or so will help.

Everyone have a great day and be safe.

Good morning all. Blue skies and 72, but that's gonna change later this afternoon. Should not amount to enough to change the direction we are headed. The dams have been able to reduce their discharge and the flood waters are starting to recede around eastern Oklahoma. The sad thing is it all makes its way into Arkansas. They are under water in places and will be for days, maybe even a week.

Anyways, I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning folks.
Yesterday we got all the remaining rotten lumber replaced, and I'm gonna let things dry up up 'til Monday before we close up the roof. We added some more insulation to the attic, and I intend to add some more.

But I'm going to take it easy today and Sunday. I need to avoid extended-project burnout.

Monday, it will get closed up and shingled. Then I have to finish the wall.

Then I can finish the aquarium stand, a sump stand, and set it all up, blahblahblah. . .

My buddy wants to go shooting, but I am too beat. I'm gonna lounge today, as much as possible.

By the way I finally got tired of my old wobbly $60 Walmart skill saw, with the flimsy 18-gauge platten. Quite powerful but could not cut a straight line on a cardboard box. As you push the saw forward the platen flexes.

I got this new professional magnesium skill saw for $200 with a blade. This is money I should have spent 30 years ago. I would have saved $200 on Sandpaper!

Good morning. Beautiful start to the day. Fair skies with no wind and 70 degrees.

We'll be heading home this afternoon. It's been a relaxing couple of days.

Tomorrow I am driving to Omaha for a couple of days.

Have a great day and be safe.

Good morning folks.

Still working on the roof. It will get shingled today. There was more rotten plywood to deal with.

Roofing is bad enough, but our roof is 6:12 pitch. It is tough to stay up there on bare plywood. Legally we should have a safety harness on.

Phooie!
