You're a lot better shot with a snub nose than I am.
That would make the bad guy double over. Wouldn't need that sex change operation.
On my last box of Aguila mini buck and had a failure to feed, once these are gone, that`s it! I was getting about A 3.5" spread at 14ft. which is not bad but I won`t bet my life on `em!
I LOVE that Suprema! I have NO qualms buying 5 or 6 boxes at a time..patterns well enough for me!
I like the Federal as well.
Agreed! I usually reserve those loads for the 88 but I`m thinking it`s time to run some of it through the SW just to see if this old man can hang on!
They hit pretty hard don't they?
Yes Sir, they have a bit of a kick for a low brass load.....I have a target ready for them and the SW.
Finally you got some new artwork!
Okay, maybe we don't need that particular art work.
I`ve had it for awhile but seldom use it.....if you print this to 4"X6" and choose two copies it will print off about 3"X5" which is about the size of the human heart.....then I`ll center it about 12" directly below the tip of the nose for doubles, (chest and head shots).....I might just poke some holes in `em today too!
I ran some Suprema through the little SW this morning and you can certainly feel it in your hands but it`s manageable and effective! I`ll probably only use it in the 88 but for $10 US dollars for a box of 25 at your local Walmart you can`t go wrong.....
I got out the Mav 88 for a little fun this morning and did some side by testing, Federal Power Shok vs Federal Tactical again
I pretty much come up with the same results and the same conclusion, I like a little spread so I prefer the Power Shok.
Federal Tactical is a 8 pellet low recoil 00.
Federal Power Shok is a 9 pellet of 00.
This is one of the #1 main reason why I like a shotgun so well. You're not getting up from that.
I ordered a few boxes of Federal #4 buck from Freedom Munitions and ran a few through the SW today from 14ft., it produced a pattern about 3.5". They`re a handful out of the SW but but damned effective....
I tested some shells today out of my semi today too.
Fired at 30 and 40 yards at a lifesize turkey head target.
I think 30-35 yards with that choke and shell combination is about the upper end of where I'd want to shoot a turkey with it.
Plenty of coverage for squirrel, grouse, rabbit, etc. well past that though.
John, I just got an email today about some new Federal Premium Heavyweight TSS shells that might extend your range. Expensive stuff, but how many rounds do you need when turkey hunting?
$30-$50 for 5 rounds msrp simply isn't very likely.
Still would be very interesting though. Nearly every single one of my shotguns pattern really well with 8 and 9 shot. It just lacks in penetration at distance.
