I like the shorter barrels too.
Late to the discussion, but length of barrel was only critical with old slower burning powders, black powders etc.
Modern propellants don't need 32inches to burn (look at any old H&R or Iver Johnson single barrel from the 1920's, 32_inches was the minimum length)
Thanks, Iver. Makes sense. Been a while now, and I still like my Mossy 20" turkey gun. Don't shoot much, but it looks good in the safe, lol.
