I have found that some rings will Not fit Weaver base like #35 base which I used on 3 of my 4x4
some rings have a round center screw which may not fit the groove cut in Weaver bases that is square
The round screw may be Bigger I used Quad Lock Weaver rings

I have a Sightmark 3-30 x 56mm scope on my .300 Win Mag. I think that the scope sits too high. Anyone know of what size rings would get me closer to the barrel without compromising opening and closing the bolt? I have high rings right now, but am afraid that medium rings might interfere with the operation of the scope and the bolt. Any suggestions?

You know, I didn't measure it, but here is a profile picture that you can see the clearance on it.

Usually manufacturers list the height specs for their rings.

I'm a big fan of DNZ mounts. Their one piece mounts are excellent and the height specs will give you a measurement from the top of the receiver to the centerline of the scope tube. Gives you an easy measurement to place your scope to see if your bell will clear the bore. With their 20 MOA mount the 50mm bell mounted on my .308 Remy 700 is so close to the barrel that I can't get the rubber scope cap on. Nice and low is how like it. Looks like you've got some room to work with there...

These rings came with the scope and are not the best rings in the world. It got the scope mounted and that is about it. I need to take a look at the DNZ mounts and what they have to offer. Thanks for the advice!
