Mossberg 500 6 3/4 action tube and magpul forend

I'm sure this has been stated but what can I do/buy to use a magpul forend on a mossberg 500 with a short action tube? Or do I have to buy the 7 1/2 action tube (which is out of stock everywhere)?

update and bump - I tried installing the magpul and i think it's for the 7 1/2 action tube. And then I purchased the hogue adpater nut but it won't even fit in the Magpul forend hole. Also, is mossberg 590 the same size action tube as 500? Because I noticed the magpul box reads "Mossberg 590"

Are you using the proper insert that comes with the magpul forend? it comes with 2 ring like adapters and one I believe is meant specifically for the 500/590 while the other is meant for the 590A1.
