Mossberg 500 Pump Action Accessories...

Re: looking for tactical flashlight please help

Yep, I got the Elzetta ZFL-M60 last year and it's by far the highest quality light I have ever held.

Dan, you HAVE to get the $7 thumbscrew for the mount. It takes me four seconds to insert the light and twist it down.

If someone wanted a green laser there is a picatinny rail section available that goes on the side opposite the light on an ElZetta ZSM mount (the mount accepts any standard 1" light) and you could put a laser there.

Re: looking for tactical flashlight please help

+1 on the thumbscrew and they offer laser engraving for just $10 more :D

You got it!!!!!! Yay! I knew you were hoping to make this the year you would purchase one, and you did it!!! I got the personalization done on mine as well. Totally worth the extra ten bucks.

Did you get the flood or focused device?

Re: looking for tactical flashlight please help

I ended up getting the focused, since I'll be using this off of the shotgun as well. I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting another one before the year is out, I like it that much! Maybe I'll go with the 3 cell with the flood, then I can swap out the devices and have the pest of both worlds! :)

So I have one of the new? pinned forends. Anything I can do about wanting to get an aftermarket tri rail forend?

To replace the pinned forend and to be able to use aftermarket forends you will need to install a slide action tube....
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/42...be-assembly-7-3-4-mossberg-500-a-590-12-gauge

Midway is out of stock right now but you can backorder from them or shop around somewhere else now that you know what you need. You can usually find a good deal on these on eBay if you look around.

Word of warning though......there are 2 different lengths of these, 7 3/4" and 6 5/8", you will want the 7 3/4" tube as that is what most aftermarket forends mount to. Hope that helps!!

And welcome to Mossberg Owners from Southern Illinois!

He may also purchase the shorter slide assembly. He will just have to purchase the adapter nut too. If that is even available... It's tough right now to get parts... Really tough. But that is another route you could go if interested.

Welcome from Central PA!!

Damn! that was fast. I can tell I am going to like this place. Thanks for the help fellas! :D

And meh, for 65 bucks I think Ill just order a plain rail, and a barrel clamp rail, and just bust out the ol dremmel tool.

If you're just looking for a short rail to mount a light or laser here is another option that several guys use, and no risk of ruining your forend. :)

I'd shop around for that piece as well.......CTD is on the "bad companies" list for right now but their website is still the best for finding a particular part.

To be honest, Ive found everything I need on amazon. And it was easy to get all of my items from amazon instead of a company just selling through them. Im just going to order the magazine tube from them and put aside a few items untill next time. CTD is on my s*** list as of late, as well. Just ordered a 24 inch barrel from them and it looks used. spots where the finish is missing...pretty rediculous. Im so tired of getting screwed from ordering things online. Seems to happen every other time. As for the size, the length is what? The tube itself or th arms that go into the reciever?

The size refers to the length of the actual tube.

Totally understand about Amazon and being easier......I try and buy local as much as possible but when I buy online I tend to shop around a LOT. LoL

Yes I completley understand. Amazon has just screwed me way less than anyone else. And it was usually because the item came from a company selling through amazon. For anyone interested, Heres what I'm putting together, for what I feel is a pretty good price. For starters I have a 500 Persuader or Cruiser(tbh, I dont know the difference. Barrel length?) the newer model that has the parkerized 18.5 barrel, reciever, and heatshield. With the nice blued internal peices. (Curious to see how long that lasts)
Kept next to my bed with the pistol grip stock attached, breach open, safety off, 3 inch 000 Buckshot laying in the chamber, with a 3 inch slug and another 000 Buckshot ready for follow-up.

For my complete home defense setup these are my plans,

New magazine tube ...stupid pinned forend.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BA ... EQYI4JDKSE

Mako Tri rail forend. I really like the quality of this company.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F0 ... PDKIKX0DER

Magpul angeled foregrip....Might leave this on for clay shooting as well.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D2 ... PDKIKX0DER

This bad boy, I am really looking forward to. Home defense and fun in the woods alike.
I love my recoil reducing items for shotguns.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AQ ... PDKIKX0DER

And a nice little slip on rubbr grip for it, because why not.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AQ ... PDKIKX0DER

Offset Rail mount for flashlight
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ZY ... Z6Z4LCAKI5

Was considering this for a light. Reviews claim it to be quite durable.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00396 ... PDKIKX0DER

And for Turkey hunting/sporting I have my 24in all purpose vented barrel. No thanks to CTD

I cant wait for this. Hunting and clays. In camo. This guy is hard to find cheap for the 500.
http://www.tactical-store.com/ts-bw-sy-ebcdfc.html

Just a sling, nothing fancy.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JL ... G35FUEL15G

And some sling mounts that I find quite nice.
http://www.amazon.com/Uncle-Mikes-Detac ... ling+mount

I cant think of anything else I might get except for a rifled barrel but for 200 bucks they cant stick it you know where...

Oh, and the 24inch barrel came with and improved cylinder, modified and full choke tubes. Which one is going to have the tightest pattern?

Looks like a good shopping list for a build-up. One other piece you will need for the forend swap is a forend nut, since you don't have one right now and the tubes generally don't include it.

As far as the chokes go.....out of the ones you listed, "full" will generally give you the tightest pattern. Specialized turkey hunting chokes are generally XX-full.

Damn really? I have to find the nut too? Blah. This becoming quite annoying. This one I have ordered has it in the picture....Hope for the best I guess. Where might I locate one otherwise?

Oh and is 7 5/8 the longest assembly?

Yeah, now that I look closer it looks like that tube shows the nut on it......hopefully its included. Just thought of the nut earlier and would've hated for ya to order all the parts and then have to wait on the nut.

And yes, the 7 5/8" tube you linked is the long one.
