New Canadian Liberal government continues to cede power to the RCMP and bureaucrats

So, it's been awhile since I've been around MO. Been busy with new job, etc.....

Anyway, two issues have cropped up recently.

First, at the end of July the CFP lab (Canadian Firearms Program) administered by the RCMP...has in all their wisdom determined that the Ruger Charger compatible 10-22 magazines with a capacity greater than 10rds are now a prohibited device.

This decree in effect will incriminate thousands and thousands of 10-22 owners who have purchased for years and years high capacity mags for their 10-22's. Why incriminate? Because under our CFP, the firearms regs are included as part of the Criminal Code of Canada. This is another example of ass-backwards thinking and how the leftist bureaucracy is taking over areas of government decision making that should be left to elected officials ONLY.

Secondly, the (Lib) Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale has responded to petition E-111 to move the AR15 from restricted classification to non-restricted.

Essentially, in his response he explains why the government will not budge on the AR15 and why they believe it is a good idea to leave the decision making to the unelected minions.

It is continually astonishing to me how blindly we as a nation and even modern, western culture in general is stumbling toward the end of democracy and the destruction of our freedom as we sell out our voices to those who claim to be wise and benevolent.

Boy...are we walking down the garden path or what????

This new issue with 10-22 magazine capacity is basically the same as the issue discussed in the thread above.

In my opinion, this is the incremental way to reduce the magazine capacities of our 22 cal long guns. There is no limit on mag capacity for 22's. Except for where there is a handgun compatible magazine. All handguns in "Canadastan" are restricted to 10 rds max.

I think it's a simple as that, folks, and particularly with modern technology?
After all, you all saw The Wizard of Oz, and monkeys certainly do not fly.

But when the media gets enough encouragement ($) they can even make pigs fly, and snakes can sing and dance.

OTOH, the big media would spend billions in legal fees if the govt (in the form of O'bomba and his telephone) decided that FCC compliance enforcement was going to start digging into every dark corner of the broadcast industries . . . looking for terrorist infiltrators, & only as a matter of national security of course.

Now when the big media gets a bill for their "enhanced security", they know it's gonna be major. They've been buying indulgences for a long time.

Yes, our left looks to other nations through jealous eyes. Canada is one country they look to but they seem to prefer pointing to the EU style socialism.
