Sen. Skelos told News 12 Long Island that most New Yorker's recognize that what was ultimately passed was a more comprehensive, more balanced and better bill because Senate Republicans insisted on doing something about illegal guns, including requiring stronger penalties for those who use a gun in a crime or on school grounds. It also ensured that those who pose a danger to themselves or others never have access to a gun. So the new law ensures those that pose a danger never have accass to a gun? So that makes it ok to screw over the law abiding? I'd like to see Mr. Skelos wager his life that the new law will prevent those that pose a danger from ever getting a gun and doing bad things with it. Mark my words, when the new law doesn't work it will be because the law didn't go far enough.
