I had a friend ask if I've heard anything in this and what it means exactly.

She shared an article with the headline claiming it's a confiscation bill. I don't understand technical lawyer speak and the way bills are worded but it looks like if a protection order is issued against someone considered to be an extreme risk, that it's entirely possibly that whether that person is present to defend themselves or not, that any weapon they own could infact be confiscated without due process.

Am I seeing this correctly?

Well of course we've already had this pass in California.

If you want to know what's coming, read the news of the California State Legislature.
