Has anyone mounted a picatinny rail on the stock forend? I was thinking instead of buying a new forend, I could just mount a rail. What do you guys think?
I'm certain it's possible and may be as easy as drilling a pilot hole and then using small pan head screws, maybe coarse thread like what's used for metal stud framing but there might be better options.
Magpul makes different lengths, and a length long enough for a grip. They're also fairly inexpensive. I believe, and I'm guessing based on memory, it would work ok on a grip.
