If I were a citizen of broward county, after hearing her statement of using school materials to make unsanctioned itinerary's that should be grounds for probation and suspension at the very least. For the principle too for allowing it.

Yup... And consider that any free "support" by a company of this "event" should be considered grounds for boycott. Or better yet, if you are a stock holder, you should raise holy hell with the board of directors of such companies for giving away YOUR profit (ie: free hotel, free flights, etc.).
