Quick access Shotgun Locks

Ive got two kids.
I use Gunvaults for my Handguns (push button, spring loaded door).
At night I keep one Handgun out of the safe but out of reach for the kids.

The Shotlock looks like a good solute.
Not cheap...Costco has the lowest price I've seen ($125 or so).
The Shotlock doesn't use Batteries.
Doesn't need a key.
Is an antitheft as well as a safety lock.

Yes thanks, I saw that.
But the Mossberg Loc-Box isn't made any more and those other opens were non locking.
In my Home/Office (separate building) I am totally comfortable keeping unlocked guns on high hidden shelves but not in the house

Here's another

Uses a Key, inexpensive, SOME AntiTheft.
Lock goes through trigger guard so you would need to think about how you were willing to store your shotgun

The more I look at this one the better it looks.
If you got the larger one I think you would have room for Side Sadlles and no interference with Ghost Rings. You could store "Cruiser Ready" but would have to make SURE you weren't chambered with Safety off as the Lock is in the Trigger Guard and doesn't block the Action.
Keep in mind that you could still Chamber a round with it locked.

Got this email response from RAC:
The RAC itself mounts to the wall...not the gun. There are mounting holes already in the RAC underneath its sliding plate pin. Mounting bolts are included. And we do have customers using your type gun with the RAC.

I saw one of these at Cabela's last weekend ... priced at $349. It would fit nicely in a corner and I thought it would be interesting. I have to do more research on it but it looks rather promising.

I have two shot locks, extremely quick access. One caveat, if you have a picatinny rail with say ghost sights, for example, you will have to modify the receiver lock location. Also, with certain foregrips, it will not close.
Overall, I really like the shotlock and would recommend it but it's pricey.

When I had the 500 I bought the Mossberg wall lock. It provided good theft security and good access in the bedroom closet. When I got the 930 I managed to adapt it for use by making a small recess in the wall to accommodate the chamber handle. When I added a 1X sight no modification would have been practical to continue using it.

Here is what I currently have as a Bandaid looking for a 1 / 2 long gun closet storage with quick access. The barrel holder is from the old Mossberg setup. The lock goes through 2 eye screws set WELL into studs and it threads through the trigger guard and the chamber making it kidproof but the butt stock gives me a round (+) to chamber on unlocking it with 4 in the tube. The setup is scabbed together but works for now as i search for a cost effective quick entry / release system. Thieves that come with a prybar, sawzall and/or bolt cutters could probably get this gun fairly quickly. They might even get some others or my go to handgun safe bolted through the floor with hardened carriage bolts (bolts inside the safe - terminal ends disguised in the lower floor ceiling.

The shots are not great - phone camera in the closet (TY Adobe!). It's cobby but I'm looking for the next great idea. The sight is off the gun due to failure and has just arrived for round #2 of sighting with buck / slugs - hope #1 was an anomoly and I have a TRUGLO that lasts this time.

I recently picked up from costco.com, a ShotLock Solo-Vault for my Mossberg 500 HD shotgun. The install was straightforward. It is well made, I like the concept. It is kinda pricey, but costco.com has the best price.

YMMV,

I'd like to do the shotlock but I've got ghost ring sights ... I don't think this works with them.

Yes, it can but you would have to relocate the breech lock more to the center of the shotlock by drilling new screw locations. I have my 590A1 SPX in one. Use a cobalt bit.

I'm also considering this product.

Also note it can easily be modified to fit more weapons (see below).

It should also be noted that the bold-down kit bolts the product to the wall (not the floor).

The UL nor TL ratings are listed on SentrySafe's web site for the HDC11E so I've messaged them to find out.
