RBCD 77grain ammo for 10mm

I got this ammo along with a G20 I bought last week, nitesite brought It to my attention that I shouldn't shoot it.
So I decided to break it down and see how it was made.

Looks decent enough.

The dark top is lead, followed by a plastic/nylon ball.

Then it's encapsulated with copper, the process doesn't appear to be done well, as you can see the crushed copper on the back.

I don't have a fancy bullet puller and the hammer type I do have took nearly 40 hits to dislodge the projectile from the case, they crimpped the "you know what" out of it.
So I used a small pair of parallel pliers and my reloading press you get the job done!

FWIW, it had 8.6gr. Of some sort of flake powder loaded, I only weighed one load.

Now I have some primed 10mm brass so I can load up my own once I get the proper powder.

ugly ammo, nice score on the brass

I bet if the ammo worked right it would be devastating

Nice pics. I know what you mean about pulling them with a kinetic puller. The partial box that my buddy couldn't send back to RBCD for a full refund went to me to disassemble. Those light bullets are really difficult to generate enough inertia to overcome the neck tension. Of course, a 180-gr bullet, being much heavier, comes out with about two whacks.

You bullet bases actually looked better than mine.

Beyond a certain distance they were horribly inacurate when my buddy and I shot them. I can not see a good concentric gas seal being made as the bullet passes the muzzle crown.

Other people who bought this ammo might well have had better experiences, but there are too many stories similar to my friends' and mine to ignore the possibility that it's not worth the exhorbitant cost.
