I have been eyeballing the Mossberg 464 but I have a weird problem. I usually store my long guns somewhat dissassembled so it would fit in a large but short safe I own.
I have an AR, that is no problem, because you just seperate the upper and lower.
I have no problem with my Henry .22 lever action or Marlin 1895 45/70 because only one long screw connects the wooden stock.
Since the 464 safety is where the stock removal screw usually is on a henry or a marlin, I don't know if I can remove the stock from the Mossberg 464 easily. Everything I have seen so far says not to even attempt a field strip disassembly. Anyone know if and how the 464 stock can be removed?
If it cannot be done, I'll just settle for a Remlin or a Rossi 30/30 lever gun and cross my fingers.
