Rio and Spartan 20gauge buckshot are NOT the same.

I mention this because I kind of got the idea they WERE the same shells, just repackaged. They aren't. I just bought some of the Spartan rounds. They have the crimp style I'm used to seeing on Federal, etc.

The Rio ones have clear plastic overshot cards.

Both of the shells are #1 buckshot with 9 pellets. They may even be made in exactly the same place, but they are NOT the same. Just some info. Might make a difference in some autoloaders, etc. Take care. Tom Worthington

The Spartan shells I like better ...and a year or so back they were dirt cheap for a case of 250 ( $70) , now I can't find them that low . I got a bunch of Rio Buckshot as well -but that too is no longer $99 a case .

The Rio shells will not cycle correctly in my 20 gauge Weatherby SA459 (semi auto). They do not automatically eject. The Spartan shells cycle fine.
