Savage Model 64 .22LR

Bathrobeman

.270 WIN
I haven’t been shooting in a little while but I banged around on the ole Savage .22 today. It’s always a fine shooter.

The Model 64 gets a bad rap from a lot of people.
Mine has been reliable and accurate.
I'm into mine for under $200 with spare items from the gun closet.
I wish someone would develop a high cap mag or rotary magazine.

The is my second one. I bought my first 23 years ago when I was 16. It finally crapped out few years back, so I bought another. More than ten rounds would be nice. I have a few 10 rd mags and I turned a shotgun butt stock shell holder into a spare mag holder. It works ok, but a twenty rounder would be nice. One thing I wish is that the bolt would lock open when empty. I often fire one too many times.
This my wife’s target with the 64 and she’s not really into shooting that much.
It’s accurate enough I’d say. That’s an 8” target I do believe. Shot somewhere around 40 yds give or take with a 4x32.
