Slug Leading

I haven't been shooting shotguns long.

How much more barrel leading can I get from shooting slugs over 00 buck?

It took a while today to clean the lead from my 930 today. I noticed most of the lead was about and inch in from the chamber right up to the gas ports in the barrel.

Just lead though. No grime.

Your barrel will lead considerably faster shooting slugs. In 00 buck the wad covers the shot as it goes through the barrel

Put about 75 slugs thru the barrel. Took about 45 minutes to get all the lead out.

Guess I'll start using more 00 buck.

What works good in the bore to soften the lead to come out faster?

You would think that type of fouling would come out of a smoothbore barrel easily but it doesn't. I just got some Shooters Choice shotgun and choke tube cleaner to see if it works.
